Corey Mitchell Hart, a Canadian pop-rock singer, was born on May 31, 1962, in Montreal, Quebec, into a large family.

Growing up, Corey spent his childhood traveling as his father was a prominent real estate agent, leading the family to frequently move to Mexico and Spain before settling in Florida. When Corey was only ten years old, his parents divorced, and he remained with his mother. At the age of fifteen, Corey realized his dream of becoming a singer after participating in the recording of an album by Tom Jones.

In 1983, Hart recorded his first demo songs under Aquarius Records and then traveled to England, where he spent three months working with studio musicians Phil Chapman and John Astley.
