Kolkata: A senior woman IPS officer, who had cracked the Park Street rape case and was shunted out, was today shifted for a second time in a year. Damayanti Sen, former Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police (Crime), who is now working as DIG (Training) at Barrackpore Police Trainning College, has been transferred as DIG, (Darjeeling Range) following a brief reshuffle in the state’s IPS cadre today, state secretariat sources said.

Besides Sen, four other IPS officers were also transferred, the sources said.

During her tenure as the first woman Joint CP (Crime), Kolkata Police, Sen was transferred as DIG (Training) at Barrackpore PTC on April 4 last year after she had solved the Park Street rape of an Anglo-Indian woman, the mother of two, after partying at Park Street on February five.
